Rescuing Radio

Deborah Esayian set higher standards in the media industry, returning millions of dollars of lost business.

When Deborah Esayian walks into the room, the energy level rises. She has a vibrancy in her step, a twinkle in her eye, confidence in her carriage and a purpose to her gait. There is an electric feeling that she is going to make something happen.

Esayian is the chief revenue officer of Marketron, a global company that has been serving the radio industry for 45 years. Recognized as one of the ‘Most Influential Women in Broadcasting,’ Esayian oversees the sales and business development of Marketron’s three product lines: radio traffic, mobile and interactive. Marketron is the media industry’s leading provider of business software solutions to streamline operations (billing, reporting, etc.) and increase advertising revenues. Esayian, 52, is an expert in advertising, media and software technology.

“When Deb starts to talk, you better listen fast because there will be a lot of information coming at you, and there will be no time to take notes,” says Tony Renda Sr., president of Renda Broadcasting Corporation, a Marketron client. “She is high-energy, brilliant and works with such passion that I sometimes check to see if she is on our payroll. She works as if this company is hers.”
