MARKETRON INTERNATIONAL INTRODUCES ELECTRONIC CONTRACTING FOR RADIO STATIONS USING ARBITRON'S TAPSCAN Software Converts Tapscan Schedules into Marketron Contracts Electronically; Stations Increase Salesperson Productivity, Reduce Contract Errors & Track Pending BusinessBurlingame, Calif.—September 29, 2003— Marketron International today introduced Electronic Contracting software for Marketron Radio clients that also use Arbitron’s Tapscan® software. For the first time, radio stations can electronically convert schedules developed in Tapscan into sales orders and contracts for the Marketron traffic system. Marketron Electronic Contracting eliminates a substantial amount of redundant data entry, reducing errors and enabling salespeople to focus on generating revenue rather than paperwork. Previously, stations that wished to incorporate Arbitron’s respondent level ratings or qualitatively weighted ratings in their proposals were forced to develop schedules in Tapscan and once approved, manually re-key all relevant order information into the Marketron system. Connecting the two software applications electronically not only improves salesperson productivity and reduces errors, but also provides managers with up-to-the-minute views of pending contracts for more accurate sales and inventory tracking. “The Marketron vision is focused on uniting all departments within a station on a single electronic solution,” said Mike Jackson, CEO of Marketron International. “The link between sales and inventory management is critical to the revenue chain. We developed Marketron Electronic Contracting to give our clients that use Arbitron’s sales and proposal system the productivity benefits that only a seamless connection between departments and their software systems can deliver.” Marketron Electronic Contracting is available immediately. Marketron Radio: Connecting the Broadcast Enterprise The Marketron Radio solution integrates all departments and business processes across a station into a single system and database. Integration enables the sales, traffic and business departments to more easily share information, better optimize inventory and increase revenues. Storing sales and inventory information in a common database allows for real-time access to data. Corporate managers can check numbers for individual stations or the entire group from their desktop; sales managers make informed approval decisions in seconds; traffic directors manage available inventory more effectively because they have the most complete information. Connecting all departments electronically also eliminates redundant data entry and associated errors. Salespeople spend more time selling; traffic managers focus on optimizing inventory; station revenues increase. About Marketron International |
