MARKETRON INTERNATIONAL WINS GROUP CONTRACT FROM JEFFERSON-PILOT COMMUNICATIONS

Leading Broadcaster Selects Marketron to Provide Internet-based Broadcast Management Solutions to Radio Stations

Burlingame, Calif.—March 11, 2004— Marketron International today announced a multi-year agreement to provide Internet-based broadcast management solutions to Jefferson-Pilot Communications radio stations. Marketron’s applications lead the industry in maximizing revenue and optimizing inventory. Its proven hosting service enables Internet-based access while delivering lowest total cost. The 16th-largest radio broadcaster cited Marketron’s corporate reporting, enterprise-class system performance and remote connectivity as key factors in its decision.

A longtime Marketron client, Jefferson-Pilot operates 17 radio stations concentrated in the top 50 markets. Marketron Radio provides integrated Sales, Traffic and Business Intelligence applications to the group’s general managers, general sales managers, account executives, traffic directors and business managers. By storing all station advertising data in a single system and creating electronic workflow between departments, the Marketron solution enables better decision-making and accountability.

The Marketron Hosting service was launched in 2000 and currently serves more than 40 broadcast groups and 3,000 individual subscribers. It provides anytime, anywhere system access, enabling Jefferson-Pilot staff to work productively from any computer with an Internet connection. Implementations are fast and easy as there is no proprietary desktop software to install or update.

Marketron Hosting’s enterprise-grade protections include best-in-class system hardware, expert IT maintenance, top-shelf data security and disaster recovery. Jefferson-Pilot will save on hardware costs as Marketron’s hosting center bears the data processing and storage burdens, eliminating the need for station desktop and server upgrades.

“Since launching our first radio station in 1934, Jefferson-Pilot has been committed to delivering the best radio to our communities,” said Mark McKeen, Vice President of Information Technology for Jefferson-Pilot Communications. “Marketron is a critical partner that proves its worth every day. Marketron’s best-in-class functionality combined with the added value and IT cost savings of its hosting service enables us to focus on serving our listeners, advertisers and shareholders.”

“Marketron is honored to have won Jefferson-Pilot’s confidence in both our inventory management applications and our hosting service,“ said Mike Jackson, CEO of Marketron International. “This leading broadcaster’s decision to expand its investment in Marketron solutions validates the strength and advantages of our offerings. We look forward to delivering additional revenue benefits, productivity gains and IT value to Jefferson-Pilot radio stations.”

Marketron Radio: Connecting the Broadcast Enterprise
From proposal through traffic to billing, a station’s sales and fulfillment process requires input from many people across multiple departments. When each department maintains separate software systems, the entire operation suffers revenue and productivity losses.

Marketron Radio enterprise solutions integrate all departments and business processes across a station into a single system and database. Integration enables the sales, traffic and business departments to more easily share information, better optimize inventory and increase revenues.

Storing sales and inventory information in a common database allows for real-time access to data. Corporate managers can check numbers for individual stations or the entire group from their desktop; sales managers can make informed approval decisions in seconds; traffic directors can manage available inventory more effectively because they have the most complete information.

Connecting all departments electronically also eliminates redundant data entry and associated errors. Salespeople spend more time selling; traffic managers focus on optimizing inventory; station revenues increase.
