MARKETRON INTERNATIONAL TO PROVIDE MARKETRON ONDEMAND RADIO TRAFFIC SOLUTION TO NEXTMEDIA

Group Led by Veteran Radio Executives Carl Hirsh, Steven Dinetz and Skip Weller Selects Marketron’s Internet-based Inventory Management System

NAB 2004, Las Vegas—April 20, 2004—Marketron International today announced that it has signed a multi-year contract to provide its Marketron OnDemand radio traffic solution to NextMedia Group, Inc. Marketron OnDemand is an Internet-based Sales, Traffic and Business Intelligence solution that delivers industry leading inventory management tools in an easy-to-deploy and affordable package. NextMedia cited best-in-class traffic functionality, affordability and solution flexibility as critical factors in its decision.

NextMedia is the 23rd largest radio group and operates 60 radio stations in 15 rated and suburban markets. The company will begin deploying Marketron OnDemand immediately. Storing station advertising and inventory data in a single system and creating electronic workflow between departments will enable NextMedia to improve productivity and maximize revenue.

Marketron OnDemand is built upon Marketron’s proven hosting platform that was launched in 2000 and currently serves more than 40 broadcast groups and 3,400 subscribers. It provides anytime, anywhere system access, enabling station staff to work productively from any computer with a Web connection. Implementations are fast and easy as there is no proprietary desktop software to install or update.

Enterprise-grade protections include best-in-class system hardware, expert IT maintenance, top-shelf data security and disaster recovery. Broadcasters save on hardware costs as Marketron’s hosting center bears the data processing and storage burdens, eliminating the need for station desktop and server upgrades.

Marketron OnDemand offers stations the flexibility to determine the scope and scale of their solution. Broadcasters who wish to benefit from the revenue generating and productivity benefits of an enterprise-wide integrated system may deploy the solution to members of their sales, traffic, business and management teams. Stations seeking the utmost affordability may limit system use to the traffic and billing departments. Marketron OnDemand scales up or down to any budget.

“In only five years since our founding, NextMedia has risen to the 23rd largest radio group and we don’t plan to stop there,” said Skip Weller, President/COO of NextMedia Group Inc. “We need an inventory management solution that will grow with us. Marketron OnDemand sold us by combining industry leading traffic functionality with the flexibility, scalability and easy deployment of a hosted solution.”

“Marketron is thrilled to add NextMedia to the list of leading media companies who license our solutions,” said Mike Jackson, CEO of Marketron International. “Marketron OnDemand was designed for radio stations and groups that previously had to choose between functionality and cost. We believe that every broadcaster who wants to maximize top-line and bottom-line results should be able to use the best inventory management tools. Marketron looks forward to delivering substantial productivity and revenue benefits to NextMedia.”

The Value of Connecting the Broadcast Enterprise
From proposal through traffic to billing, a station’s sales and fulfillment process requires input from many people across multiple departments. When each department maintains separate software systems, the entire operation suffers revenue and productivity losses.

Marketron’s enterprise solutions integrate all departments and business processes across a station into a single system and database. Integration enables the sales, traffic and business departments to more easily share information, better optimize inventory and increase revenues.

Storing sales and inventory information in a common database allows for real-time access to data. Corporate managers can check numbers for individual stations or the entire group from their desktop; sales managers can make informed approval decisions in seconds; traffic directors can manage available inventory more effectively because they have the most complete information.

Connecting all departments electronically also eliminates redundant data entry and associated errors. Salespeople spend more time selling; traffic managers focus on optimizing inventory; station revenues increase.
