MARKETRON INTERNATIONAL WINS GROUP CONTRACT FROM RADIO ONE 7th Largest Radio Group Selects Marketron to Provide Internet-based Inventory Management Solutions to All 67 Radio StationsNAB 2004, Las Vegas—April 21, 2004—Marketron International today announced a multi-year agreement to provide Internet-based broadcast management solutions to all Radio One stations. Marketron’s applications lead the industry in maximizing revenue and optimizing inventory. Its proven hosting service enables Internet-based system access while delivering lowest total cost. The seventh largest radio broadcaster cited Marketron’s inventory optimization capabilities, world-class client services and remote connectivity as key factors in its decision. Radio One operates 67 radio stations in 22 markets, targeting primarily urban and African-American audiences. Marketron will provide integrated Sales, Traffic and Business Intelligence applications to each Radio One station. By storing station sales and inventory data in a single system and creating electronic workflow between departments, the Marketron Radio solution enables better decision-making and accountability. Radio One will also license Marketron Electronic Invoicing which will allow select stations in the group to bill agencies via the Internet, eliminating the expenses and errors inherent to a paper-based process. Marketron will provide application hosting and IT management services for Radio One’s inventory management system. Marketron Hosting launched in 2000 and currently serves more than 40 broadcast groups and 3,400 individual subscribers. It provides anytime, anywhere system access to enable Radio One staff to work productively from any computer with an Internet connection. Implementations are fast and easy as there is no proprietary desktop software to install or update. Marketron Hosting’s enterprise-grade protections include best-in-class system hardware, expert IT maintenance, top-shelf data security and disaster recovery. Radio One will save on hardware costs as Marketron’s hosting center bears the data processing and storage burdens, eliminating the need for station desktop and server upgrades. “Radio One is focused entirely on high growth urban markets,” Scott Royster, CFO and EVP for Radio One. “We need an inventory management solution that can optimize and bill large volumes of advertising inventory easily and reliably. We know from experience that Marketron delivers the most advanced technology and best service in the industry. The added value and IT cost savings that Marketron Hosting will offer the entire group made our decision clear-cut.” “We are honored that Radio One has decided to standardize its entire group on Marketron solutions,” said Mike Jackson, CEO of Marketron International. “This contract marks a significant commitment from one of Radio’s most successful, forward-looking groups. Winning Radio One’s trust is a testimony to the value and strength of Marketron’s offerings.” Marketron Radio: Connecting the Broadcast Enterprise Marketron Radio enterprise solutions integrate all departments and business processes across a station into a single system and database. Integration enables the sales, traffic and business departments to more easily share information, better optimize inventory and increase revenues. Storing sales and inventory information in a common database allows for real-time access to data. Corporate managers can check numbers for individual stations or the entire group from their desktop; sales managers can make informed approval decisions in seconds; traffic directors can manage available inventory more effectively because they have the most complete information. Connecting all departments electronically also eliminates redundant data entry and associated errors. Salespeople spend more time selling; traffic managers focus on optimizing inventory; station revenues increase. About Radio One About Marketron International
