Database Server Remote Control

The Adaptive Server Anywhere Remote Monitor can be called up anytime the database server is running. It shows you all of the connection threads currently communicating with the server. One workstation or process can have more than one connection. On your system the server name will probably be something that begins with your callsign or server name such as, wkkkCCCDbServer.

Most of the time this dialog is not particularly useful for normal VT operation. It can be handy if you want to shutdown the database and want to confirm that everyone has shut down his or her workstation. If possible, avoid shutting down the server when connections are still present.

If someone is still using VT, you can see who it is by looking at the Userid column. You can then ask them to exit VT on their workstation. If this is not possible, you can disconnect the user from this dialog by clicking right on the line and selecting Disconnect.

When you close this dialog you do not stop the database server from operating.
