Cash Receipts and Deposits

Cash Receipts and Deposits is where you enter all money or Cash Receipts from advertisers and agencies and apply them to Bank Accounts through Deposit groups. There is no limit to the number of Bank Accounts> and Deposits you can use.

This is also where you distribute receipts to the advertiser record and apply the money using a variety of methods. Cash receipts may be credited to specific items or auto applied automatically to multiple items. Also, it is possible to leave receipts unapplied to any detail.

Another feature of the Cash Receipt Deposits screen is the ability to enter a Payment Reversal to counteract a bad or incorrectly entered check.

Entering a payment (or a receipt) is a three-step process.

  1. Enter the check information using this dialog.
  2. Click the Apply to Statement button to apply the payment to the various components of one or more invoices.
  3. Those receipts are posted to the accounts of the individual advertisers or agencies at the same time all other system activity is posted.

Posting happens using the functions of Statement Processing , selected from the A/R Menu, and is not a part of receipt entry.
